Holiday fatness

For two weeks of eating out at restaurants, I feel like I'm carrying a spare tire around my tummy! My goodness. But I still weigh 130lbs..Still stable.

Really.. these past few days I feel like a bum..a sloth..lazy ass..pig..whatever you call it.
Whenever I see sparkling cakes and those delectable goodness of holiday food,  I just can't help it but to drool.

Oops.

Oh, another thing I love about Christmas. Beautiful decors.

Malaysia Truly Asia

Ice kachang at Coffee terrace ☺

Famous fast food chain in Malaysia

Mid-end restaurant near monorail and KL sentral station. I love their food especially their chicken versions (i.e. Chicken rice, rosted chicken, chicken in curry) Also don't forget to buy rotta cheese that comes with 2 dips! (Tastes like pita bread though very soft and cheesy, yummy!) Highly recommended.

Prices ranges from 1RM to 6RM. (Convertible to 13.50 Php)

Indian food is so delicious!
Prices ranges from 6RM to 17RM (Convertible to 13.50 Php)

If you're not into spicy food according to your palate. You can also refer to chinese food in Jalan Alor. ☺

Hahaha! He seems lost. :p

View from our window at Genting Theme park hotel. Can you see the Petronas twin tower? ☺

All right, time to stretch our body..

Bungy Jumping!

Bungy at Sunway Lagoon
150RM (with G-max package)

vv

Wohoo!

That's my husband!

Wacky!

Now, it's my turn

Wohoo! Thumbs up!

What I love about Malaysia:
  • Environment is clean
  • bus stops are somehow organize
  • strong and spicy food
  • Friendly locals
  • Inexpensive cost
  • Hassle-free in terms of transportation ( No idea if rush hour)
  • Some public washrooms are clean and comfy

And that's the end of our trip!

In a few months we'll be in... ☺

Yakimix, finally!

After 1 1/2 years of contemplating, we finally dined at Yakimix Mall Of Asia!
We were there at around 8pm to have our names listed...11th.

Whenever we know that we would wait that looooong, we tend to find another restaurant. I know, so impatient. So hungry.

But this time,I asked my hubby to accompany me to buy stuff at Beabi, also to kill some time of waiting.

As we went back...9th T.T

But wait, after a few minutes.. it becomes 5th.. 3rd.. Then finally called our names,

IRRASHAIMASE!

Oh, the feeling of grand entrance!

Hurrah!

The price for weekend buffet is 660Php plus bottomless drinks of 75Php

All right, let's get going.

We were so pressured to eat, because we were there at 9:15pm, 45mins before the cut-off time.

In the end, too much leftover for us. :c
Good thing that they did not charge us for that.

Moving on..

As for our taste, we love their raw food more than Tong yang. Because at Tong Yang, you really have to cook from scratch and the tastes seems mono-flavor (if there is such word) iisa lang unless of course you put spices in it. Well, as their slogan says, "the freedom of cooking"

While at Yakimix, most of the raw foods are marinated in various sauces that you don't have to worry on what spices/ingredients to put this and that.

Basically, whichever effort you prefer in cooking.

What about their cooked food?
Average.

Desserts?
Average.

Overall, still good for us and we'll dine in here again!

Lesson learned:

  • Have a reservation if you're budgeting your time
  • Have your name listed early. Not 8pm but 6 or 5pm.
Their buffet cut-off time is 10PM
Closing time is 11PM

Whew.. SO impatso! :p

Trending Oppa Gangnam style?

A video that invades Youtube with 186 million + viewers and counting since July 15 2012 (The date when the video was uploaded)

The first encounter I've been was from 9gag that says "No Gangnam style" sign. I just ignored it back then.

Days had passed, and I found it on facebook though not the official MTV but 5 girls dancing Gangnam style which I find it amusing haha. So I look for the original video which is PSY singing ang dancing unusual but hilariously funny. Not to mention that there are a-lot of parodies appeared. Entertaining, yes.

The MTV has unusual dance steps; riding an invisible horse, shaking the booty like a cartoon character and so on. The kid in the intro is pretty amazing by the way! ☺

Again, another fad. Remember Nobody by Wondergirls? That was a fad. Seems like a lot of craze have been happening in the world eh?

Anyhoo,
What is Oppan? What is Gangnam style? Questions to be answered on these links.

http://mydearkorea.blogspot.com/2012/08/korean-language-what-is-oppan-in.html

http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-09-07/news/33682557_1_gangnam-psy-dance

So what is really behind those korean lyrics of Oppa Gangnam style?

English Translation:

Oppa is Gangnam style
Gangnam style
A girl who is warm and humanle during the day
A classy girl who know how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee
A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes
A girl with that kind of twist
I’m a guy
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let’s go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
A girl who looks quiet but plays when she plays
A girl who puts her hair down when the right time comes
A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all
A sensable girl like that
I’m a guy
A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays
A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes
A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles
That kind of guy
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let’s go until the end
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
I’m a man who knows a thing or two
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
I’m a man who knows a thing or two
You know what I’m saying
Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

Based on what I understand, It pertains to a party-loving-guy who is somewhat in love with a simple girl. in short, Simplicity is beauty. Still has a sweet sense of expressing music unlike other songs haha. ☺

It may be freakin' peculiar to others but hey, admit it. You raised a centimeter to make that smile. ☺

That's all right, everyone wants to be happy. Ta-ta! ☺

The plunge at E.A.T Danao, Bohol

Hubb(ies) first! ☺☺

Hahaha..☺

It was such an exhilarating yet freaky moment in our lives.. so far :)
Imagine, that you're about to freefall for 2 seconds then swing with such great wind. Not to mention that you'll be hanging in a height of 45 meter / 147 ft or on top of 1,470th floor building! Really. Speechless. Truly amazing.
After they pulled us up, we went to see our hilarious acts we've done in photographs. Good thing that you'll be able to purchase all of your soft copy pix (300Php) with 2 chosen printed pix.

And there you go, we sure going back here again! ☺

If you're looking for adventures/thrills then de-stress yourself from the overworked city at E.A.T Danao. ☺

Do you know other similar places to visit?
Tell me please! Thanks! ☺

Cebu is lechon and Crowne Regency

Edge coaster

The only ride we've loved at crowne regency!
It'll be a problem for those people who have fear of heights. But you should not miss this for experience.

Imagine, you're on top of 38th flr... On the edge, tilted.
But if you can't handle your fear, you can control to straighten it.

And congratulations, you'll receive a certificate, brave one. :)

Skywalk: Mission accomplished!

This is another thrill we've done on 37th flr.
The thing is, you will walk on the floor. That's all.
I guess they should've change the floor into a glass so we can see what's down there. Right?

Excited hubby :)

 Cnt Lechon
1/2 kl for 180Php

In a sunny afternoon lunch, people are crowded dining here at Cnt Lechon. Some do takeouts not just 1 box (1kilo) but 4 even 6 boxes! I also witnessed a family seems having a party to their house ordered 6 whole roasted pig. "Ganun kabenta at kamura sa Cebu"  I said.

The place is not too extravagant, in fact it's like a canteen. Though.. hot. Really hot.

Anyway, moving on to their delicacy. Lechon.

To be honest, I don't eat pig skin, even crispy pata. To be exaggerated, I disgust those food. Fortunately, Naga's Bob marlin's crispy pata changed my taste. "Ang sarap!" with matching twinkling eyes.

At Cnt, people ordered 1kl to dine in. No people EXCEPT US ordered 1/2kl haha. "nakakahiya naman" I said. :)

You know what, their food brightens my day, I totally love their pig skins that doesn't need any sauce, though for the internal meat, you prolly need those. (rhyming words! haha)

Another famous lechon I heard are Zubuchon and Rico's lechon which we will try next year :)

I don't know why in Manila's lechon doesn't taste so good for me.

You know what they say, "Authentic food comes in the street of the origin".

Long weekend at Baguio City [Part 2/ Pizza Volante]

As we arrive at Pizza Volante restaurant at around 10:30pm. Seats are almost fully-packed! But still, we managed to find a table for us and we assume that the restaurant's food is that great.

Here's what we've ordered,

mussels in red sauce with wine
117Php

I like this dish so far, the sauce is thin because of tomato & mussels juice. Liquid-y as you eat it, you know, sauce is spattering as you slurp the pasta :p

Kenny George 8" pizza
162Php

For this specific flavor, this one is average for me.
Anyway, we'll surely try other flavors and might blow us away :)

Waffles
75Php

Creamy waffles. Simple yet yummy.

Others: Chicken fillet Corsican rice 120Php
            Vanilla milkshake 46Php

Tasty chicken, not too salty aaaannnd Vanilla milkshake for the win!  So addicting.

Overall rate, we'll surely get back here again, imagine, all the food I've mentioned above costs us around 500Php.
Very affordable and the food is simply great.

Long weekend at Baguio City [part 1/Vizco's restaurant and cake shop ]

Everyone is happy because it's looooong weekend (Aug 18-21)!

August 18 Saturday
August 19 Sunday
August 20 Eid-al-Fitr (Holiday)
August 21 Ninoy Aquino day (Holiday)

That's why :)

Moving on to..... Baguio! Yay.

Vizco's restaurant and cake shop

Before hubby and I check in to our hotel, we stroll first by walking from victory liner to session road. Well, I guess to save fare..maybe not. :p

Baguio City is really small that you'll be able to memorize every corner of the place. As we walked to session road, there are lots of restaurants to choose from, italian/filipino/chinese cuisine, cake shop and many more.

But Vizco's caught our attention so we tried this out.

Gambas rice
225Php

This dish is one I really like! A combination of pesto buttery sauce in a very tasty shrimp that can't go wrong.

Chap chae
 [*from Ocha restaurant menu]
210Php

*Ocha and Vizco's owned by the same owner where you can order some food from Ocha's menu even if you're in Vizco's, vice versa.

Hubby's favorite. I normally don't eat chap chae, I don't know, maybe it's just odd for me to eat sweet noodles. Except for this, I like the balance of sweetness and saltiness of the dish which made me eat this. Unfortunately, due to recent adjustment of my dental braces, I can't chew comfortably. Wrong timing. Maybe next time!

Choco mudpie
[based on my receipt]
90Php

This dessert.. it was frozen! Confused a bit for this dessert, the usual mud pie I know is that, chocolates are swimming around the cake. Choco mousse with banana Or Banana choco mousse (Yes, it's banana, the yellow thingy above) is more appropriate I guess.

Mango cake
65Php
I like what I ordered a slice of mango chiffon cake. For the price it's really worth it. The icing and mango cream layer did not fail on me.

They accept credit card

They do delivery!
Just call/text 446-7082, 09175790962 or 09209642407

Bob Marlin restaurant at Naga City

 Crispy pata
389Php

I often eat 1 or 2 spoonful of crispy pata and that's it. But as I've tasted this cripsy yet juicy meat, I can't help myself but to compete with my hubby eating it haha. Really, this is so far the best. Better not miss this! :)

Bicol express
99Php

If you're in naga/bicol don't ever forget to order their spicy cuisine bicol express!

FYI:

Bicol express was named after the train. I guess it's PNR from Manila to Bicol region (Bicol express) route.

They accept cash & credit card

Cadbury old gold oreo cheesecake

Desserts are meant to savor its flavor, its taste and its ingredients.

These are just my assumptions in scrutinizing the cake.
Cadbury old gold oreo cheesecake
135Php per slice

The name speaks for itself and it sure is heavy! :)

Happy Friday!

2nd visit to Tony Romas

This time we used Tony Romas membership benefit. If you register for the first time, you'll be receiving a coupon as you complete the registration  (Print it out). On which it is valid only within 2 months upon registration.

The coupon goes like this:

  • 1 coupon per dining
  • If you order 2 main course, whichever has the lower price, gets 50% discount. Meaning to say, whichever MAIN course is lower, gets 50% discount

Basil Pesto Chicken & Vegetable Linguine
590Php

I picked the "dinner" choice of the main course. The waitress said that it is hefty than their "lunch" choice. Anyway, I'm hungry!

 Grilled shrimp on a skewer
695Php

Delicious big and juicy shrimps. Hm-hm!

 Mozzarella sticks
260Php
I just love mozzarella sticks!

Apple Crisp
360Php

I thought there is "cinnamon" included in this dessert. Well, usually it has right?
So good thing it has none. But dude, the apple flavor is strong and delicious. The top layer has crispiness and soft chunky apple inside. Drizzled with caramel syrup and a scoop of vanilla ice cream :)

Another great experience! We're loving Tony Romas more :)

VMV Hypoallergenic moisturizer

VMV Hypoallergenic
Hydra Balance Smart Moisturizer SPF 15
(Orange, For combination skin)
700Php

My Celeteque just retired last weekend and we're about to go to Baguio City those times. Cold breeze makes my skin really dry, you know red spots and scaly skin. After my prior moisturizer was consumed I thought of buying VMV Hypoallergenic's moisturizer at Glorietta 3 before we arrive at Baguio.

After washing, VMV's moisturizer is very light and absorbs well when applied to skin. My dryness and red spots was gone after  2 to 3 days of application. Now I'm loving their products more. :)

By the way I'm also using their facial wash VMV Hypoallergenic Smart Hydra Balance Cleansing Scrub

Cafe by the ruins, don't miss it!

We went to Baguio just for a short trip this weekend. We actually stayed at Hotel Veniz (I'll post separate blog for this) for 3 days and 2 nights. Anyway, you shouldn't miss to visit the talk of the town, Cafe by the ruins. The good thing is, it's really near to our hotel. Just a short walk that's all. As we stroll uphill and 2-3 blocks to shuntug st. Alas! There you are.

Their place is very cozy and somewhat relaxing.
Long draping trunks, rocks and leaves gives an effect of a nature lover scene.

Even their menu's design matches the place.

Now, let's move on to their food.. Shall we?

Brioche and Herb cheese as my spread
80Php

So french. I love the combination of these, it has an aftertaste of eating more :)

 Rizal's tsokolate-e
140Php

Bittersweet chocolate in cold climate. Oh lala!

 Pan con Chocolate
80Php

Those oozing chocolates IS NOT just for a show. There is more to come as you slice your fork into it. C H O C O L A T E S.

Cheese lumpia straws
120Php

Their version of cheese stick is not an ordinary cheese, I should have asked what cheese it may be. For me it tastes like kesong puti with a bit of herb dipped with a zesty lemon dip

Baguio Bagnet
280Php

Hubby ordered his favorite. Bagnet. Their bagnet is much more better than we tried before in Ilocos at Apo Idon. However, the sauce at Apo Idon's Bagnet is better than Cafe by the ruins.

Lemon ricotta with grilled chicken
220Php

At first sight I thought their pasta would taste like carbonara or any other pasta with cream. But I was wrong, the taste was like tangy and herb-y in taste. Grilled chicken is good and soft. Though with my braces on, their sliced of bread hurts my teeth not to mention the cold climate that hardens my food. Overall, I love its taste :)

Strawberry shortcake
200Php

As for my finale, I ordered their strawberry shortcake. The art may be deceiving but for the taste.. It's disappointing for me. The cake is bland and dry. I'm not sure if shortcakes are like that, but for me it's a no-no. It was like a bland dried bread covered with whipped cream and topped with strawberries. That's it. I guess their Pan con Chocolate is better than this.

Anyway, as I further researched on about shortcakes, there are 2 versions on making it. One is biscuit-like ( which is the above picture) and the other is sponge cake.

As for this specific shortcake, it should be absorbed by its strawberry juices and cream to fully appreciate the taste.

Now I know. :)

Meet my husband.. Kim :)

And me.. Faith. Hello!

What do I think?
Well, I would love and definitely go back here!
